Once Upon a Snap privacy policy
Last updated September 24, 2026
Short version: there’s no account and no analytics, and your seasons and your binder stay on your phone. The game is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob, and AdMob collects some information about your device to do that. Most of this page is about that part.
Who this covers
This policy covers the Once Upon a Snap app, made by Pettigrew Lab LLC, on every device it runs on.
What the game stores on your phone
Your season in progress, today’s Daily, your binder, your running record, your settings, and whether you bought Remove ads.
All of it is saved on your phone, inside the app. It isn’t sent to us and we can’t see it.
On Android, it’s included in your phone’s backup if you have backup turned on, under your Google account. On iPhone, it’s part of your phone’s own backup if you use one, under your Apple account.
Ads
Once Upon a Snap shows ads from Google AdMob: one between seasons, and the optional ones you choose to watch for a redraw.
To show and measure those ads, and to catch ad fraud, AdMob collects information about your device. That includes your device’s advertising ID, an approximate location worked out from your IP address, how you interact with the ads, and diagnostic information about how they performed.
Google handles that data under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. We don’t get a copy of it, and we can’t tie it to you.
Where the law gives you a choice, including the EU, the UK, Switzerland and several US states, the game asks before any ads load. If you say no, the ads you see aren’t personalized. You can change your answer any time under Settings, Ad privacy choices.
On iPhone, the game may also ask permission to track. If you say no, ads still show, they just aren’t personalized to you.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings whenever you want.
Remove ads
Remove ads is a one-time purchase through Google Play or the App Store. They handle the payment under their own privacy policies, and we never see your card or your store account.
The game keeps a note on your phone that you bought it, and checks with the store so Restore purchase works on a new phone.
Sharing a season
When you share a season, the game builds the image on your phone and hands it to your phone’s share menu. Where it goes from there is up to you, and we don’t see it.
What the game doesn’t do
There’s no account and nothing to sign into, so we don’t have your name or your email unless you write to us yourself.
There’s no analytics, no crash reporting of our own and no tracking by us. The only outside code that sends anything is AdMob, and the store’s own purchase code.
The game doesn’t ask for your location, camera, microphone or contacts.
Kids
Once Upon a Snap is made for teens and adults and isn’t directed at children under 13. Ads in the game are limited to ones rated for teens.
Deleting your data
Uninstall the game, or clear its data in your phone’s settings, and everything it saved is gone. There’s nothing on our side to delete, because nothing was sent to us.
For the data AdMob collected, reset your advertising ID, or use Google’s controls at myadcenter.google.com.
If you email us
If you write to the address below, we have your email and whatever you put in the message, and we keep it only as long as it takes to answer you.
If this changes
If a future version collects anything new, this page is updated before that version ships, and the date at the top changes.
