How it works

  1. Pick a set, or choose Your own words and type them in, one per line.
  2. Pick how hard. Easy runs across and down. Medium adds diagonals. Hard adds backwards.
  3. Hit Shuffle until you like the grid, then Print. The answer key prints on its own page.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. No sign up, and you can print as many as you want. The only extra on the sheet is a small footer: where it came from, and a QR code to more free games.

Can I use my spelling list?

That’s what it’s best at. Paste the list in, one word per line, and print. Easy keeps every word going across or down, which is kinder to a first grader.

How many words can I put in?

About 15 fit well. The grid grows with your longest word, up to 18 letters across. If a word won’t fit, the page tells you which one.

Is there an answer key?

Yes. Show answers lights them up on screen, and Print the answer key prints it on its own sheet.

Do you keep my words?

No. The puzzle is made in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
