The Scripture Play icon: a stack of gold plates with a maze engraved on the top oneScripture Play: Nephi to Moroni

The stories they hear in Primary, made to play.

Four games built from 24 stories in the Book of Mormon. Kids color the pictures, match them, walk a maze through them, and take Nephi back to Jerusalem for the brass plates. Every picture is checked against its verse.

Not out yet. Coming to iPhone and Android for $0.99, once. No ads, no account, and it works with no connection.

Color the story

24 Book of Mormon coloring pages, from Lehi leaving Jerusalem to Moroni burying the plates. Tap a spot to fill it, or draw with a marker, a crayon or paint. Every page has a sentence saying what's happening and where to find it.

Match the pictures

Turn over two cards and look for the pair. Every match opens a short card about that story. Pick 6, 9 or 12 pairs, and any page a kid has colored shows up as their own card.

Walk the maze

Every picture is also a maze, in easy, medium and hard. That's 72 of them. Put a finger on the dot and walk the line through. It can't jump a wall, and backing up erases. Stuck? Show the way.

Go back for the plates

1st Nephi in the Wild is a little pixel adventure in two parts. Walk Nephi through the desert and sneak through Jerusalem at night for the brass plates. Then, in Bountiful, find the ore, make the tools, cut the timber and build the ship. Sam walks with you and asks questions about the story.

The practical stuff

  • $0.99 once. Nothing else to buy inside.
  • No ads, and no account to make.
  • Works with no connection at all. Car rides, church, airplane mode.
  • Collects nothing. What a kid makes stays on the phone, and sharing a picture sits behind a grown-up check.
  • Made for ages 6 to 11, with big buttons for small hands.

For the scriptures themselves

This is a way to play with the stories, not the place to learn them. For that, the Church has free resources made for kids, and they're where we'd start.

Scripture Play is made by Pettigrew Lab, a small family studio. It isn't made, sponsored or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Questions

When can I get it?

It isn't out yet. Send us an email with the button on this page and we'll write back the day it's in the App Store and Google Play.

Is it made by the Church?

No. It's made by Pettigrew Lab, a small family studio, and the Church doesn't endorse it. We checked every picture and line against its verse, but for learning the gospel, start with the Church's own resources above.

How old should my kids be?

It's built for ages 6 to 11. Younger kids can color and walk the easy mazes with a little help.

Does it need internet?

No. Everything is on the phone, so it works anywhere, in airplane mode too.

Are there ads, or anything to buy inside?

No. It's $0.99 once, and that's all of it.

Does it collect anything about my kids?

No. There is no account and no tracking, and nothing leaves the phone.
