Fictional FaceOff privacy policy
Last updated September 24, 2026
Short version: there’s no account, no analytics and no chat, and your games and your score stay on your phone. The app is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob. Those ads are set up for an app kids use, so they’re never personalized. Most of this page is about that part.
Who this covers
This policy covers the Fictional FaceOff app, made by Pettigrew Lab LLC, on every device it runs on.
What the app stores on your phone
Your settings, like Bedtime mode, the Kid vs. Grown-up score, and whether you bought Remove ads.
All of it is saved on your phone, inside the app. It isn’t sent to us and we can’t see it.
On Android it’s left out of your phone’s backup, so a new phone starts fresh. Restore purchase brings Remove ads back.
Ads
Fictional FaceOff shows ads from Google AdMob, at most one after a fight’s result. There are no ads in the middle of a story and none in Bedtime mode.
We tell AdMob the app is directed at children. That means the ads are never personalized, nothing is used to build a profile for advertising, and only ads rated for general audiences are allowed.
To show an ad and catch ad fraud, AdMob still collects some information about the device, like an approximate location worked out from the IP address and diagnostic information about how the ad performed. In the words the Google Play listing uses, that can include device or other IDs, approximate location, app interactions and diagnostics.
Google handles that data under its own policies: policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/families. We don’t get a copy of it, and we can’t tie it to you or your child.
Remove ads
Remove ads is a one-time purchase through Google Play, and the app asks a grown-up question before it opens. Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy, and we never see your card or your account.
The app keeps a note on your phone that you bought it, and checks with the store so Restore purchase works on a new phone.
Sharing a story
Sharing sits behind the same grown-up question. When you share a story, the app builds the image on your phone and hands it to your phone’s share menu. Where it goes from there is up to you, and we don’t see it.
What the app doesn’t do
There’s no account and nothing to sign into, so we don’t have anyone’s name or email unless you write to us yourself.
There’s no analytics, no crash reporting of our own, no chat and no tracking by us. The only outside code that sends anything is AdMob and the store’s own purchase code.
The app doesn’t ask for your location, camera, microphone or contacts.
Kids
Fictional FaceOff is a family game, and kids use it. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.
If you think a child has emailed us something personal, tell us and we’ll delete it.
Deleting your data
Uninstall the app, or clear its data in your phone’s settings, and everything it saved is gone. There’s nothing on our side to delete, because nothing was sent to us.
If you email us
If you write to the address below, we have your email and whatever you put in the message, and we keep it only as long as it takes to answer you.
If this changes
If a future version collects anything new, this page is updated before that version ships, and the date at the top changes.
