Was William Henry Harrison born in a log cabin?
His 1840 campaign sold him as a plain frontiersman from a log cabin who drank hard cider, with cabin-shaped bottles to prove it. He was actually born on Berkeley Plantation, one of the wealthiest families in Virginia.
What happened at the Battle of Tippecanoe?
Before dawn on November 7, 1811, warriors led by Tenskwatawa, called the Prophet, surprised Harrison's camp at Tippecanoe. Harrison was on his horse almost at once, moving units to patch the line, and it held until the attackers pulled back.
Did William Henry Harrison study to be a doctor?
Harrison started out studying medicine in Philadelphia under Dr. Benjamin Rush. When his father's money ran out, he joined the Army instead and marched about 80 recruits to a fort in the Northwest Territory.
