Star Signs help

Last updated September 28, 2026

Stuck on something in the Star Signs app? Most answers are below. If yours isn’t, email us and a person writes back.

Getting started

Install it from Google Play, where it’s listed as Star Signs: The Real Sky, and open it. There’s no account to make and nothing to sign into. Pick your sign, or give it your birthday, then tap Start with lesson 1.

Modules 1 to 4 are free, and so are the first lessons on your birthday against the sun and on Ophiuchus. Each lesson takes about five minutes and has something to play with.

Is this astrology?

No. It’s an astronomy course that starts with your sign because that’s the part of the sky most people already know. It shows you the real stars behind it, where to find them, and what happened when people tested whether signs predict anything. It never tells you what your sign says about you.

Changing your sign

Tap Me, then Change it next to your sign. You can switch to a friend’s sign any time and the sky toys follow.

Unlocking the full course

One payment through Google Play unlocks Modules 5 to 24, every Sky Card and every Talk Card. It’s not a subscription, so there’s nothing to cancel.

If a payment is still going through, the app says so and opens the course on its own once the store confirms it.

Getting your unlock back

New phone, or reinstalled the app? Make sure the Play Store is signed in to the Google account that bought the unlock. Then open Star Signs, tap Me, then Restore a purchase.

If it says no unlock was found, the store is probably signed in to a different account. The unlock belongs to the account that paid for it.

Refunds

The purchase goes through Google Play, so refunds do too. Play’s refund page walks you through it.

Starting over

Tap Me, then Start over, to wipe your progress, cards and reading on that phone. There’s no undo. Your sign and the unlock stay, so you won’t pay twice.

Making it easier to read

Tap Me to set the text size to Normal, Large or Extra large, or to turn on Less motion.

The sky toys

The star maps and “tonight” views are worked out on your phone from a catalogue of measured star positions. They never ask where you are. Slide the latitude to roughly where you live and they match your sky to within a degree or so.

Something looks wrong

Every distance and date in the course was checked against published measurements, but mistakes get through. If you find one, email us and say which lesson it was. Corrections are the point.

Devices it runs on

Android 7.0 or newer. The iPhone and iPad version comes later. Once it’s installed, the lessons work without an internet connection.

Your data

The app doesn’t collect anything about you. No account, no analytics, no ads, no location. Your sign, your birthday and your progress stay on your phone.
