Ping! The Internet Game privacy policy

Last updated October 13, 2026

Short version: there’s no account, no analytics and no chat, and the game never connects to anything. Your stars, coins and upgrades stay on your device. For a game about the internet, it doesn’t use it.

Who this covers

This policy covers Ping! The Internet Game, made by Pettigrew Lab LLC, on every device it runs on.

What the game stores on your device

Your progress: the stars on each message, your coins, the upgrades you bought, and whether you picked Explorer or Engineer.

A short record of recent play, like which message you tried and how the run ended. It sits on the device with the rest.

All of that is saved on your device, inside the app. It isn’t sent to us and we can’t see it. A run in progress isn’t saved at all, so closing the app mid-run starts that message over.

The friends in the game

Mark, Scott, Zara and the rest are made up, and so are their addresses. Every address in the game comes from a block of numbers set aside for testing, so none of them belongs to a real person or a real computer.

The message you type on our web page stays in your browser. It isn’t sent anywhere either.

Ads

There are no ads in the game today.

The plan is for the released game to be free with ads, set up the way an app for kids has to be: never personalized, and never in the middle of a run. This page will be rewritten to say exactly what that involves before any version with ads ships.

What the game doesn’t do

There’s no account and nothing to sign into, so we don’t have anyone’s name or email unless you write to us yourself.

There’s no analytics, no crash reporting, no chat, no purchases and no links out of the app.

The game doesn’t ask for your location, camera, microphone or contacts.

Kids

Ping! The Internet Game is made for kids 8 to 15. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.

If you think a child has emailed us something personal, tell us and we’ll delete it.

Deleting your data

Uninstall the app, or clear its data in your device’s settings, and everything it saved is gone. There’s nothing on our side to delete, because nothing was sent to us.

If you email us

If you write to the address below, we have your email and whatever you put in the message, and we keep it only as long as it takes to answer you.

If this changes

If a future version collects anything new, this page is updated before that version ships, and the date at the top changes.
