Ant to Everest help

Most questions come down to a few things. If yours isn’t here, email us and a real person writes back.

How does a round work?

Watch the pick order at the top. When it’s your pick, choose a move. Everybody does that move, and you also get the yellow bonus. Each round has three picks, and nobody picks twice in a row.

What does ? Size mean?

Nobody knows how big a new thing is yet, not even you. Pick Measure and guess its size. A right guess earns cards, and either way the size shows from then on. You have to measure a thing before you can build it, and once you’ve measured one giraffe, every giraffe shows its size.

How do I pay for a build?

Tap the card you want to build, then tap the other cards in your hand to trade for it. The card you’re building doesn’t count toward its own price. If you’d rather not choose, tap Pick for me and it trades your least useful cards.

Why does a giraffe say “lay it down”?

Every size on the ruler is measured the way you’d really measure it. A kid is 4 feet tall, but a car is 15 feet long. So when a tall thing like a giraffe is compared to a car, the game lays the giraffe down first.

I had too many cards and had to let some go

You can draw as many cards as you like during a round. At the end of the round you keep eight, two rows of four, and you pick which ones to let go.

When do the ads show?

Only between rounds: never in the first five minutes and never more than one every five minutes. It works the same on Android and iPhone.

What’s Today’s Five?

Five things to measure, a different mix every day. Everyone gets the same five, so a kid and a grown-up can each play and compare. It works without the internet, and the results screen shows everyone who played today.

How do I share a result?

After Today’s Five, tap Share. A grown-up types a number to unlock it, then picks where to send it from the phone’s share menu. It sends the row of pictures and the score, never a name.

Can I change the player names?

Yes. Tap New game, then change the names on the setup screen. The game remembers them for next time.
