Home Cadence terms of use

Short version: Home Cadence gives general home-maintenance guidance for a typical home. It isn’t professional advice, your manuals and local codes come first, and you decide what’s safe for you to do yourself.
Who these cover
These terms are an agreement between you and Pettigrew Lab LLC, which makes Home Cadence. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. The terms of the store you downloaded it from apply too.
The guidance is general
The intervals, steps and explanations come from manufacturer and safety-organization guidance for a typical home. Your house, your equipment, your climate and your local building codes may call for something different.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your equipment and your local codes. Where they differ from the app, they win.
Doing the work
You decide whether a task is safe for you to do. Anything involving gas, electrical wiring, a roof, a tall ladder, or a task the app marks as usually a job for a pro should be done by a licensed professional. If something feels wrong partway through, stop.
Reminders are a convenience. A reminder that arrives late, or not at all, doesn’t mean everything in your home is fine.
No warranty
The app and its guidance are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t promise the app is free of errors, or that its guidance fits your home.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Pettigrew Lab LLC is not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or your reliance on its guidance or reminders. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Some places don’t allow these limits. Where that’s the case, they apply as far as the law allows.
Your data
Everything you enter stays on your phone, as the privacy policy explains. Keeping a copy is up to you: Send my list in Settings saves one wherever you choose.
If these change
If we update these terms, the date at the top changes, and using the app after that means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
